Over the past year, I’ve been learning to live at a different pace.

After finishing a full renovation of my house—from rewiring and insulation to paint and plumbing—I’ve found myself craving a slower, more intentional rhythm. I now spend my time volunteering for a couple of charities, looking after a mischievous puppy, and making space for things that bring me joy: cooking from scratch, brewing beer, and walking long distances with no need to rush.

This shift wasn’t just about lifestyle—it’s helped me reconnect with the kind of work I want to do. I’m still very much a techie at heart: I love building and improving systems, from websites to networks. But now, I’m more interested in how technology fits into real lives—how it can empower small teams, streamline workflows, or simply bring a bit more peace of mind.

I’ve also been making more time for meditation, which has become a daily habit that grounds me. It’s surprising how similar it feels to sanding down an old door or debugging a stubborn bit of code. Both require presence, patience, and a kind of quiet problem-solving.

This blog will be a mix of things: notes from the field, reflections on work and life, and documentation of projects I’m proud of—whether that’s a tidy SharePoint rollout or a repaired bit of skirting board. If you’re into tech, DIY, dogs, or slowing things down a little, I hope you’ll find something here that resonates.

Thanks for reading. Let’s see where this goes.
